1. Canoes Under Sail |
John Bull's first book "Sail Your Canoe" gave many people the inspiration and information they needed to rig their canoes. The interest it provoked led to much experimentation and development.
John's new book "Canoes Under Sail" draws on the advances of the past few years and is an up-to-date beginners' guide on how to rig a canoe but there is also much here for the experienced sailor.

3. Over the
Sea to Skye. Early Travels by Canoe to the Scottish
Islands and West Coast 1874-1876.
|
|
These are
adventures of early canoe sailors on the West Coast of Scotland.
They were taken from newspaper cuttings pasted into a battered
old pocket notebook which stood for many years on a book-shelf
in the club room of the Clyde Canoe Club. The book includes
contemporary illustrations from the archives of the Clyde Canoe
Club (now the Loch Lomond Sailing Club) and the Royal Canoe Club
and excerpts on the design of sailing canoes and canoe
cruising at the time as well as information about the boats and
sailors mentioned in the stories.
